Blown Head Gasket... How do you know?

  • Compression testing is not a reliable way to diagnose a Blown Head Gasket
  • Pressure testing the cooling system is not a reliable way to diagnose a Blown Head Gasket
  • Determining if exhaust gasses are present in the cooling system is the best way
    to diagnose a blown head gasket
  • Don’t buy another used vehicle until you have checked it yourself for a blown head gasket!
  • Most minor Blown Head Gaskets have no visual or mechanical signs yet!

When fluid turns from BLUE to YELLOW,
a combustion leak is present!

Kit contains enough fluid to test approximately 10 vehicles!

 

 

Use the Universal Block Tester when...

  • The condition of the engine is unknown.
  • Engine starts hard.
  • Cylinder head has been removed.
  • Engine overheats.
  • Loss of engine coolants occurs.
  • Rusty radiator conditions are present.
  • Before engine tune-ups.
  • Cracked block or head gasket problems suspected.

Kit Includes:

  • Universal Block Tester
  • 16 Ounces Test Fluid
  • Complete Instructions

Quick Instructions:

  1. The engine must be warm and idling.
  2. Determining that the radiator fluid level is low enough so that water will not enter the tester unit.
  3. Fill Block Tester through top plug opening with combustion leak test fluid to "Fill to here" line.
  4. Insert lower plug end of tester firmly into radiator opening.
  5. Rapidly squeeze and release top aspirator bulb, pressurizing radiator and forcing air from radiator up through test fluid for 60 seconds before test is completed.
  6. If test fluid turns from Blue to Yellow, a combustion leak is present. Never return test fluid back from Block Tester to bottle.
